Message from Sophia

Welcome, and thank you for visiting my website!

I'd like to begin by expressing my deepest gratitude to our Almighty God for all the blessings he has given me. A very special thank you also goes to my Papu and Grandpa, who have always been a source of strength and support.

My journey competing on BORN DIVA - ABS CBN was a truly unforgettable experience, and I am so grateful to everyone who helped me along the way. I want to sincerely thank Dr. John Cenica of Jancen Cosmetic Surgery Medical Spa, Dr. Cherry Anne Cruz of Perfect Smile, Ms. Pam Salcedo, Mr. Wilbert Ting Tolentino, Direk Rodgil Gilbert Flores, Mr. Jonathan Manalo, Johann Escañan, James Jumalon, Roche Chua of Eng Bee Tin Chinese Deli, Coach Maryliz Go Mendoza Cardinoza of Maryliz Voice Clinic, Trinity University of Asia, and STAR MUSIC.

This journey wouldn't have been the same without the special people who gave me a reason to go on. A huge thank you to Mr. Vehnee Saturno for composing my song Reason to Go On, and to Kumoricon for giving me the incredible honor of being named their KUMORICON IDOL 2019.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for your belief and support. It means the world to me.

Swirtty Mae was born on March 1, 1986 in Echelon Tower Malate, Manila to Aladino and Melinda Nibley better known by her screen name Sophia Montecarlo, she used to be a contestant on the reality show of ABS-CBN Born Diva. Promising diva Swirtty Mae's father was such a big fan of Vilma Santos that he named his daughter after the star mayor's son Luis Manzano (also known as Lucky Manzano), Nibley was baptized Swirtty Mae Nibley.

After taking a listen to the wide array of videos of her on YouTube, it is clear to see why she has come this far. She has been singing since childhood and her voice is clear, soulful and conveys true emotion with its pure and lovely tone. Montecarlo takes on the songs that suit her well and has such stage pressence that many has not seen in OPM since the likes of the legendary Regine Velasquez. The Fil-Am Vocal Arts Society feel proud to welcome Ms. Sophia Montecarlo as our diva in the waiting and nominate her for Best New Artist and Best Rock/Alternative Solo Vocalist and Best Overall Female Vocal Performance of the Year for our little Online Music Awards. Even though, we not live up to the status of the WCOPA, we hope that she still feels honored if she wins.

The first signs of Swirtty Mae’s singing talent were discovered in a truly beautiful and unexpected way. One night, her father heard a voice and, upon investigating, found his three-year-old daughter, Swirtty singing in the middle of the night. Inspired by this discovery, he began nurturing her passion right away, starting her formal training.

As her talent blossomed, she went on to perform at prestigious venues during her childhood, including the Manila Hotel, the Waterfront Manila Pavilion Hotel & Casino, and the Holiday Inn Manila.

She graduated from Trinity High School in 2003, where she was a dedicated member of the Rotary Club. Nibley's identity is a beautiful reflection of her multiracial background, a rich tapestry woven from Filipino, Japanese, Vietnamese, Scottish, Spanish, and White (American) roots.
